Trunk Show 4/28/12

Our trunk show was a success! It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles and the set up was perfect! We are so sad to be leaving Rent the Runway but look forward to what's to come for the company! This has truly been a special year full of great experiences. We will all be graduating this Saturday May 5th! 4 years flew by. We can't wait to introduce you all to the new Loyola Marymount RTR representatives!

Graduation & Trunk Show!

LMU's first trunk show is going to be THIS Saturday! We are so excited. Pictures will be posted immediately! Things have been hectic with graduation coming up and finals right around the corner. The good news? Lots of rentals for graduation which will be on May 5th. Here is what our RTR rep, Samantha, ordered!

As most of us know, Coachella is a music festival that happens once a year in Indio, CA. This isn't just any music festival, its a three day long one. People fly in from all parts of the United States just to be a part of this experience. Since this has been a sold out show for years, this year for the first time, they are having two weekends of greatness. This festival has been a fashion trademark known for  the hipster, edgy, and hippie style of clothing. Being so well known,  girls are well aware that this coachella vibe clothing is a must. How much clothes can one wear in 100 degree weather, while still looking cute and edgy?? 


I know for the most part that many girls plan accordingly to make their three days of hipster clothing the best of the best. This requires months of previous planning to find that perfect outfit, because we know that what your wearing will be all over Instagram and Facebook. So put your shopping pants on and get ready to spot the Coachella look at any store in preparation for Coachella 2012! What's been big in the past is anything that is frayed, floral, crochet, tie-dye,  jean, Navajo-inspired  and bright. 

                                                  

                           

                                         
Some great starting points for potential finds of insane festival fashion can be at stores such as: Brandy Melville, Planet Blue, Urban Outfitters, Free People, American Apparel and any vintage shops. Look for bold patterns which draw the eye. Crop tops are definitely a must, especially if wearing high waisted shorts.
                                                                      
                          

Celebs and non-celebs alike can't stay away from Coachella because if the desert had a fashion week, it would be at Coachella.

LMU's spring break falls a lot earlier than most schools (February 27th-March 2nd). Easily over 100 LMU students went to Cabo for the break this year. We were so pleased to see so many people sporting the RTR accessories. The pink truly stands out. Have a great spring break everyone and please be safe! The Masquerade Ball was a hit! The event took place in West Hollywood at the beautiful Andaz Hotel. Representatives from UCLA, USC, Chapman and Loyola Marymount were present as well as friends of the rep's to show their support. More pictures will be posted of the event but for now, here's a sneak peek! Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting.

Just Days Away

The Masquerade Ball is only a few days away and we are so excited to see the turn out! Collectively, as the LMU Rent the Runway representatives, we spent a good hour deciding what dresses to wear to the ball. Here is what we decided on and we are really anticipating taking pictures in our rentals this Wednesday. Pictures will be up this week of the event. Hope to see you there!

STYLE SPOTLIGHT: CAROLINE QUEEN

Caroline Queen, a Senior at Loyola Marymount University, rented an Herve Leger purple bandage dress for a weekend in Vegas. She was kind enough to send us pictures. Caroline raved about the dress stating, "Being a college student, there is no way I could afford an Herve Leger dress! I was so excited to rent one and wear it out in Vegas. It fit like a glove and I received so many compliments. Thanks Rent the Runway!" Caroline was right, the dress looked absolutely stunning on her. When will you be renting your own Herve Leger dress?

You only have one head of hair, so make sure to make the most of it! We were recommended to try some Aveda products from hairstylists at the Vicara Aveda Hair Salon in El Segundo. Showering your hair every day can get extremely time-consuming and we have been trying to find the best way to avoid this (it's also not good to wash your hair every day). Pref Season & Lazy Sunday

Preference is an event that the fraternity's put on in the Spring, after their recruitment process is over. It is a way for the new guys to experience an event with their new fraternity and each guy can bring a date.

It was such a beautiful day today here in Los Angeles (high of 77 degrees!). Four of the rep's for LMU Rent the Runway are Kappa Alpha Theta's and today we hosted an event called "Kite Sisters". Basically, the seniors have a few months left before they graduate so Kite Sisters is a way to get the new members to meet and hang out with some of the older Thetas. The new members walked into a room where their names were attached to balloons. They then had to pop the balloon, and inside was a message containing their Kite Sister's name and a picture. Then the older members gave their new Kite Sisters little goody bags with Theta shirts. Following this, the Kite Sister's then went outside to a lawn and had a day full of arts and crafts! It was so much fun and a great bonding experience!

We had our FIRST fashion show on November 17th, 2011. It was a major success with 20 wonderful LMU girls strutting their stuff and showing off some of our favorite dresses. We are so proud of everyone for working so hard. Our models looked amazing and it was a great experience for the rep team. We are currently working on a trunk show that will be put on sometime in February so look out for that!
